An undercoat rake once or twice a week, working right down to the skin. The top coat can look perfect while mats form underneath against the body.
Should I shave my Pomeranian in summer?
No. The double coat insulates against heat as well as cold, and shaving risks permanent coat damage. Thin the undercoat by brushing instead.
Why does my Pomeranian skip on one back leg?
Usually patellar luxation, where the kneecap slips out of its groove. It is common in the breed and worth having assessed — mild cases are managed, severe ones may need surgery.
How much should a Pomeranian eat?
Very little, which makes overfeeding easy. Measure portions precisely and count treats — a few extra biscuits is a large proportion of a 3kg dog's daily calories.
