Keeping a pet in Financial District

Almost everything here is new build, high-rise and gated. That means small balconies, no soil, and lifts rather than stairs — which suits cats and small dogs far better than it suits a large working breed. The single most common mismatch we see from this side is a Labrador or German Shepherd in a two-bedroom flat with one short walk a day, and the chewing and barking that follows.

Ticks are a year-round problem, not a monsoon one. This is the single thing we correct most often at the counter. Hyderabad stays warm enough that the tick cycle never fully breaks, and the gap most households leave between October and February is when infestations re-establish. Monthly orals or spot-ons without a break is what actually prevents tick fever — shampoos and sprays help during an active infestation but do not replace prevention.

The IT-corridor schedule is the other constant. A ten-hour day plus a Gachibowli commute is a long time for a young dog to be alone, and it shows up as chewed furniture and neighbour complaints about barking. Day care solves it properly; puzzle feeders and chew toys take the edge off if day care is not practical. Boarding runs from the same building when you travel, which is why we see most of our boarding guests from this side of the ORR.

Construction dust is a real problem in a new tower. Blocks here are often occupied while neighbouring plots are still being built, and fine cement dust aggravates skin and eyes in dogs and cats — usually showing up as scratching, watery eyes or paw licking. Wipe paws and coat down after walks, keep balcony doors shut on windy afternoons, and if the scratching persists it is worth a look from the vet rather than another shampoo.
