Everything for a Pug

Pugs are a brachycephalic breed, which means a shortened skull compresses the airway — and Hyderabad summers are genuinely dangerous for them. Heat stroke in pugs develops faster and at lower temperatures than owners expect. We stock 84 products suited to Pugs.

Heat is the main risk

Pugs cannot cool themselves efficiently by panting. Walk only in the early morning or late evening, never leave one in a car or on a balcony, and use cooling mats indoors.

Clean the facial folds

Moisture and food debris collect in skin folds and turn into yeast infection within days in humid weather. Wipe and dry them daily. See wipes.

Weight makes breathing worse

Common questions

How do I keep a Pug cool in Hyderabad summer?

Walk before 7 AM and after 8 PM, keep them in air conditioning or in front of a fan through the afternoon, and use a cooling mat. Watch for noisy laboured breathing, blue-tinged gums or collapse — those need emergency care.

Why does my Pug's face smell?

Yeast in the skin folds, almost always. Daily wiping and thorough drying prevents it. Established infection needs an antifungal from our skin care range.

Do Pugs need special food?

Not medically, though small-breed kibble suits their jaw shape better. Portion control matters far more than the specific brand.

Why do Pugs snort so much?

The shortened airway. Some noise is normal for the breed, but noisy breathing at rest, or that worsens, is a sign of significant obstruction worth having examined.
