Royal Canin Veterinary Diet

Veterinary Diet is therapeutic food for a diagnosed condition, not a premium version of the ordinary range. Fed to a healthy animal it restricts something for no reason. We stock 47 Veterinary Diet products for dogs and cats, and our vet is on site if you need to check which one a diagnosis points to.

Gastrointestinal

Highly digestible formulas for acute or chronic digestive upset, with low-fat and fibre-response variants. There are puppy and kitten versions, which matters because a growing animal on a therapeutic diet still has to grow.

Renal and Urinary

Renal diets control phosphorus and protein quality for diagnosed kidney disease. Urinary formulas work by changing urine composition to dissolve or prevent specific stone types, so the stone type has to be known first.

Hypoallergenic and skin support

Hydrolysed protein diets break the protein into fragments too small to trigger a reaction, which is what makes an elimination trial meaningful. They only work if nothing else is fed alongside, treats included.

Dr. Badawath Pavankumar is at the Gachibowli store. If you have a diagnosis but are unsure which line fits, or how long a trial should run, ask before buying rather than after.

Delivery and returns

Veterinary Diet formulas are delivered anywhere in Hyderabad in 60 to 90 minutes, between 10 AM and 8 PM. Orders placed after 6:30 PM arrive next day by 12 PM. Delivery is free on Hyderabad orders over ₹799, and free over ₹999 across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. We ship pan-India. Sealed items can be returned within 7 days; opened products cannot.

Common questions

Do I need a prescription to buy these?

We will supply them, but they are intended for diagnosed conditions. If your pet has not been examined we will recommend a consultation first, and our vet is on site at Gachibowli.

Can I feed a veterinary diet to my other pet as well?

No. These diets restrict or modify specific nutrients for a specific problem. A renal diet fed to a healthy dog limits protein it has no reason to limit, and a urinary formula alters urine chemistry that was fine as it was.

How long before a hypoallergenic diet shows results?

Usually six to eight weeks, and only if absolutely nothing else is fed during that time. One treat or a taste of household food restarts the clock, which is the commonest reason an elimination trial fails.

Is the therapeutic range interchangeable between brands?

Broadly the categories match across manufacturers, but the formulations do not. If a vet has specified a particular diet, switch only after checking with them. We also stock Farmina Vet Life if you need an alternative.
