Common questions
How do I stop my dog shedding all over the car?
A fitted seat cover or hammock-style protector catches almost all of it and shakes out easily. Brushing before a journey helps more than anything you fit to the car.
Is a car harness necessary?
For safety, yes. An unrestrained dog is a serious hazard in a sudden stop, to itself and everyone in the vehicle.
My dog gets car sick. What helps?
Travel on an empty stomach, keep the car cool, face the dog forwards, and build up with short trips. Persistent cases respond well to prescribed anti-nausea medication — ask our vet.
What should I take on a long drive?
Water and a foldable bowl, a lead for stops, waste bags, any medication, and something familiar-smelling. Stop every two hours. See carriers and travel.
