How to choose dry dog food
Dry food is what most Indian dogs eat, and choosing it well matters more than almost any other decision an owner makes. We stock 300 dry dog foods — everyday kibble, grain-free, breed-specific and prescription veterinary diets — delivered anywhere in Hyderabad in 60 to 90 minutes.
A few things worth knowing
Grain-free is not automatically better. True grain allergy in dogs is rare — chicken and beef cause far more food reactions than wheat or rice. Grain-free formulas suit some dogs well, but the label alone is not a reason to pay more.
Feeding guides on the bag run high. They are calculated for active, unneutered dogs. A neutered dog with a normal Hyderabad indoor lifestyle usually needs noticeably less. Feed to body condition, not to the chart.
Prescription diets need a diagnosis. Renal, hepatic, struvite, hypoallergenic and obesity formulas are therapeutic foods, not premium upgrades. Our vet at the Gachibowli store can advise. See veterinary diets.
Switch slowly. Over 7 to 10 days, increasing the proportion of new food every couple of days. Most digestive upset blamed on a food is actually caused by changing to it too fast.

Delivery and returns
Dry dog food is delivered anywhere in Hyderabad in 60 to 90 minutes, between 10 AM and 8 PM. Orders placed after 6:30 PM arrive next day by 12 PM. Delivery is free on Hyderabad orders over ₹799, and free over ₹999 across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. We ship pan-India. Sealed bags can be returned within 7 days. Opened food cannot be returned, so buy the smallest pack first when trying a new brand.
Common questions
How much dry food should I feed my dog per day?
It depends on weight, age and activity, and calorie density varies widely between brands. Start with the pack's guide, then adjust every fortnight based on body condition — you should feel ribs easily without seeing them.
Puppy food until what age?
12 months for small and medium breeds. 18 months for large breeds and up to 24 months for giant breeds like Great Danes, whose skeletons keep developing much longer.
Can I mix dry food with curd or home food?
A small amount of plain curd or boiled egg is fine for most dogs. Avoid adding salted, spiced or oily home food — Indian cooking is heavily seasoned and the salt and spice load is genuinely harmful over time.
Is a 20kg bag better value?
Per kilo, considerably. But only if your dog will finish it within about six weeks. In Hyderabad humidity a half-used bag of kibble degrades faster than most owners expect.
My dog has started refusing his food. Why?
Sudden refusal in a dog who normally eats well is worth a vet check rather than a food change — dental pain, nausea and fever all present this way first. If your dog is otherwise well, it is more often boredom or too many treats.
Should I wet the kibble?
Adding warm water increases aroma and helps dogs who eat too fast or drink too little. It also makes kibble easier for seniors with dental problems. Do not leave wetted food sitting out in Hyderabad heat.
