Pet Food Cost Calculator

What does your pet's food really cost a day, a month and a kilo? Pick a food, enter your pet's adult weight, and compare it with alternatives at other price points. Prices are live from our catalogue. It works for foods we don't sell too.

Where the numbers come from

Every figure on this page traces back to something you can check.

Prices: our live catalogue

Pack prices and MRPs are read from the Cuddle Paws Co catalogue each time the page loads, for every dry dog and cat food we list. Cost per kg uses the cheapest-per-kilo pack that is in stock. Combo packs with free add-ons are shown but left out of per-kg sums.

Daily amounts: the manufacturer's chart

Grams per day come only from the manufacturer's own feeding chart for that exact recipe, linked beside each result. Where your pet's weight falls between two rows we read proportionally between them.

No chart, no guess

If we could not find the manufacturer's chart for a food, we say so and ask you for the number on your bag. We never estimate a daily amount, and prescription diets are always fed as your vet directs.

The limits

These are one retailer's prices and they change. Feeding charts are a starting point, not veterinary advice: activity, age, neutering and health all move the right amount. A month is counted as 30.4 days. Ask a vet before changing food.

Common questions

Why compare cost per day and not price per bag?

A cheaper bag is not a cheaper diet if the chart asks for more of it each day. Cost per day combines the price per kilo with how much the manufacturer says to feed, so two foods can be compared fairly.

Is the cheapest food the best choice?

Not necessarily. This page compares cost only, not ingredients or suitability. A puppy, kitten, senior, or a pet with a health condition may need a specific diet. Your vet can help you choose.

Can I use this for a food you don't sell?

Yes. Choose "My food isn't listed", enter the pack price, pack size and the grams a day printed on your bag, and it will be compared with foods we do list.

Why does the daily amount differ from my bag?

Manufacturers update recipes and charts, and some regional packs differ. Your bag is the authority. Type its number into the box and the costs will use it.
