Wet food for dogs, and when it earns its cost

Wet food costs more per meal than kibble and most healthy dogs do not need it — but for fussy eaters, seniors with worn teeth, dogs recovering from illness and dogs who drink too little, it solves problems dry food cannot. We stock 114 wet dog foods in gravy, chunks, loaf and fresh formats.

Moisture is the main advantage

Wet food is roughly 75% water against 10% in kibble. Useful for dogs who drink poorly, and for anything involving the urinary tract or kidneys.

Complete or complementary

Complete foods are balanced and can be fed alone. Most gravies and toppers are complementary — feeding only those long-term causes nutritional gaps. Check the pack.

Ideal for seniors and recovery

Soft texture suits worn or missing teeth, and the stronger aroma tempts dogs whose appetite has dropped through illness or age.

Do not leave it down

Wet food spoils within an hour or two in Hyderabad heat and draws ants. Serve what will be eaten, refrigerate the rest, and warm it slightly before serving.

A few things worth knowing

Mixing wet and dry is perfectly fine. A spoon of wet food over kibble raises palatability and water intake without the full cost of wet feeding. Adjust the kibble portion down so total calories stay the same. See dry food.

Wet food is not automatically higher quality. Judge it on the ingredient list the same way you would kibble — a named meat first, and a clear statement that it is nutritionally complete.

It contributes less to dental wear. Dogs fed exclusively wet food need more attention to brushing and dental chews. See oral care.

Therapeutic wet diets exist for most conditions. Renal, gastrointestinal and recovery formulas in wet format combine treatment with hydration, which is often exactly what a sick dog needs. See veterinary diets.

Delivery and returns

Wet dog food is delivered anywhere in Hyderabad in 60 to 90 minutes, between 10 AM and 8 PM. Orders placed after 6:30 PM arrive next day by 12 PM. Delivery is free on Hyderabad orders over ₹799, and free over ₹999 across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. We ship pan-India. Sealed tins and pouches can be returned within 7 days. Opened food cannot be returned.

Common questions

Is wet food better than dry food for dogs?

Not inherently. Wet food wins on hydration and palatability; dry food wins on cost, convenience and dental wear. Most Hyderabad households do well feeding mainly kibble with wet food as a topper.

How much wet food does a dog need per day?

Roughly three times the weight of the equivalent dry ration, since it is mostly water. Follow the pack guide for your dog's weight and adjust to body condition.

Can I feed wet food to a puppy?

Yes, using a puppy-specific complete formula. It is particularly useful during weaning when puppies are moving off milk and cannot yet manage hard kibble.

Why does my dog only want wet food now?

Dogs learn quickly that holding out produces something better. Stop offering alternatives, feed on a schedule, and remove uneaten food after twenty minutes. A dog refusing all food for more than a day needs a vet.

Does wet food cause loose stools?

Switching suddenly does. Introduce it over 7 to 10 days as you would any food change, and start with small amounts alongside the existing diet.
