Itching, hot spots and hair loss
Skin disease is the single most common reason dogs are brought to vets in India, and Hyderabad's heat, humidity and dust make it worse. We stock 284 skin care products — medicated shampoos, sprays, ointments, spot-ons and oral treatments — for dogs and cats.
A few things worth knowing
Flea allergy needs no fleas to persist. A single bite can set off weeks of itching in a sensitised dog. Year-round tick and flea control is part of skin treatment, not separate from it.
Food trials take eight weeks. An elimination diet only works if nothing else passes the dog's lips — no treats, no chews, no table scraps. Chicken is the most common food allergen in Indian dogs, not grain.
Oclacitinib and cyclosporine are prescription drugs. They control atopic dermatitis well but suppress parts of the immune system. Use under veterinary direction, with monitoring. See pharmacy.
Omega oils help, slowly. Fish oil supplements improve coat quality and reduce inflammation, but take six to eight weeks to show. They support treatment rather than replacing it.

Delivery and returns
Skin care products are delivered anywhere in Hyderabad in 60 to 90 minutes, between 10 AM and 8 PM. Orders placed after 6:30 PM arrive next day by 12 PM. Delivery is free on Hyderabad orders over ₹799, and free over ₹999 across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. We ship pan-India. Sealed products can be returned within 7 days. Opened shampoos, sprays and topicals cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.
Common questions
Why is my dog itching constantly?
The four common causes are fleas, food allergy, environmental allergy and mites. In Hyderabad, yeast overgrowth secondary to humidity is a frequent fifth. Each needs a different treatment, so identifying which comes first.
What shampoo should I use for a skin infection?
It depends on the organism. Chlorhexidine for bacterial, ketoconazole or miconazole for yeast, benzoyl peroxide for deep folliculitis. Ask our vet at the Gachibowli store rather than guessing.
How often can I bathe a dog with skin problems?
Medicated baths are often prescribed twice weekly during active treatment, which is far more frequent than normal bathing. Follow the specific protocol your vet gives rather than general advice.
My dog's coat smells musty. What is that?
Almost always yeast. It is not a hygiene failure and will not wash out with ordinary shampoo — it needs an antifungal wash and often oral treatment.
Can cats get the same skin problems?
Yes, though they present differently — cats over-groom rather than scratch, so hair loss on the belly or flanks is often the first sign. Never use dog products on cats without checking.
Does coconut oil help dog skin?
It softens dry skin superficially but does not treat infection, allergy or mites, and on a greasy or yeasty coat it makes things worse. It is not a substitute for diagnosis.
