Cat toys and why indoor cats need them
An indoor cat has no prey to stalk, and the hunting drive does not switch off because there is nothing to hunt. Boredom in cats shows up as overgrooming, night-time yowling, aggression toward other pets and furniture destruction. We stock 119 cat toys — wands, teasers, catnip toys, balls, tunnels, scratchers and puzzle feeders.
A few things worth knowing
String and ribbon are dangerous unsupervised. Cats cannot spit out linear objects because of backward-facing tongue barbs, so swallowed string causes intestinal obstruction. Put wand toys away between sessions.
Catnip does not work on every cat. Roughly a third of cats do not respond, and the trait is genetic. Silvervine and valerian work on many cats who ignore catnip entirely.
Puzzle feeders slow eating and occupy minds. Feeding part of the daily ration through a puzzle gives an indoor cat a job. Particularly useful for overweight cats and for households out at work all day.
Laser pointers need a real ending. A dot that vanishes leaves a cat unable to complete the hunt, which builds frustration. Finish by landing the laser on a physical toy or treat the cat can actually catch.
Delivery and returns
Cat toys are delivered anywhere in Hyderabad in 60 to 90 minutes, between 10 AM and 8 PM. Orders placed after 6:30 PM arrive next day by 12 PM. Delivery is free on Hyderabad orders over ₹799, and free over ₹999 across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. We ship pan-India. Unused toys in original packaging can be returned within 7 days.
Common questions
How much play does an indoor cat need?
Two sessions of ten to fifteen minutes daily, ideally at dawn and dusk when cats are naturally most active. Short and frequent beats one long session.
My cat ignores every toy I buy. Why?
Usually the movement is wrong rather than the toy. Cats respond to prey that moves away and pauses, not toward them continuously. Try a wand and drag it along the floor away from the cat.
Are laser pointers bad for cats?
Not inherently, but always end the session by switching the laser onto a physical toy the cat can catch. A hunt that never concludes causes genuine frustration.
How do I stop my cat scratching furniture?
Put a scratcher directly beside the spot being scratched, in the same orientation — vertical post for sofa arms, flat pad for carpet. Cats scratch where they already scratch, so location matters more than the product.
Do kittens need different toys?
Kittens play harder and destroy faster, so choose sturdier toys without small detachable parts. They also need more sessions per day, and play is how they learn bite inhibition.
Why does my cat go wild at night?
Unspent energy. A proper play session followed by the last meal of the day, both close to bedtime, resolves most night activity within a week or two.
